VB-G RAM G Bill passed in Lok Sabha

New Delhi, 19/12: The Developed India Guarantee Employment and Livelihood Mission (Gramin) or VBGRAM G Bill, 2025 was passed in Lok Sabha on Thursday. After an eight-hour long discussion in the LokSabha, it was passed by a voice vote. During the discussion, the bill was strongly opposed by the opposition parties. Even when Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was delivering his speech on the bill, the opposition members tore a copy of the bill and threw it in the middle of the house. Minister Shri Chouhan said that there was widespread corruption in the MRNEGA scheme during the UPA government. The amount of money that was allocated for the scheme was not spent. M Shivraj was responding to the opposition’s allegations that the name of the MRNEGA scheme, named after the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi, will be changed. The minister said that the opposition parties have killed the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. The opposition Congress has used Gandhi’s name for its political gain. Otherwise, the Congress has no role in spreading Gandhi’s ideals. Minister Chouhan said that after extensive research on the G Ram Ji Bill, it has been presented in Parliament. This scheme will not only spend money on paying wages but will also provide sustainable rural development. Through this, redeveloped villages will be created. Such as small irrigation systems in the villages, basic infrastructure, permanent arrangements to combat adverse weather conditions, etc. 98 members from different parties participated in the 8-hour discussion. Because after the bill was introduced on Wednesday, it was discussed until late at night. After the discussion, Congress member KC Benu Gopal demanded that the bill be sent to a parliamentary committee. But the speaker Om Birla rejected it. The VB-G Ramji Bill, after being passed in the Lok Sabha, was introduced in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. The government has introduced the VB-G Ramji Bill, which makes major changes to the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), 2005. As per the provisions of the bill, unskilled workers will be provided employment for 125 days per year. The bill provides for a statutory guarantee of wage-based employment. The bill aims to establish a rural development framework in line with the national vision of a developed India by 2047. Rural households will be empowered through employment opportunities.
Peace Bill passed in Parliament New Delhi, 19/12: The Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India Bill 2025 was passed by Parliament on Thursday. While the bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, it was passed in the Rajya Sabha today. As a result, the bill is almost certain to become an Act. After Minister of State for Atomic Energy Jitendra Singh introduced the bill in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, it was strongly opposed by the opposition members. The bill will allow private participation in the nuclear power sector. India’s nuclear power generation target will increase to 100 gigawatts by 2047. During the discussion on the bill, Minister Singh said that this bill will be a milestone in India’s development journey. On the other hand, the Securities Market Code (SMC) Bill 2025 has been introduced in the Lok Sabha. According to the provisions of this bill, three old laws will be amended – SEBI Act 1992, Depositors Act 1996 and Securities Contracts Act 1956. These three laws will be included. After the bill was introduced, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman asked the Lok Sabha to send it to the Standing Committee for its consideration.
