Green sticker to be affixed to vehicles with pollution certificates

Bhubaneswar(AMA AITIHA) 28/12/25: The Transport Department will provide green stickers to vehicles with pollution certificates from February. Action will be taken against those who do not have pollution certificates. In addition, Transport Minister Bibhuti Jena said that efforts will be made to reduce the fines that were increased in 2019. The fines are low in other states, which is being criticized. Pollution certificates are being given to new and old vehicles. This is also being discussed. According to the Motor Vehicle Act, it is mandatory for all vehicles to have all certificates, the minister said. On the other hand, now cash will be accepted for e-challans issued for violation of motor vehicle rules at the regional transport offices. All RTOs have been instructed in this regard by the State Transport Authority. As before, e-challans can also be paid online. In this regard, e-challan can be paid on the Transport Department application and HTTPS Transport Gov.in.
A special officer will be given the responsibility of receiving e-challan money in the RTO office. Money will be received for e-challans with active dues only from the vehicle owner or the defaulter. After receiving the e-challan, a money receipt or receipt will be issued. The payment will also be updated online. All the money received for e-challan will be deposited in the government treasury on the next working day.
